The Art of Mattress Measuring

Getting correct mattress measurements affects not only custom bedding but also the way the set fits in the bedstead.

• Mattresses and box springs are rounded and have fullness. Take this into account when measuring.
• Use a protractor to gauge the radius of the corners of both mattress and box spring
• When measuring the mattress height, measure from fullness to fullness, not from tape edge to tape edge; use three yardsticks, one between the mattress and box spring, one resting on the mattress surface and the third to measure the distance between the first two
• Use a form (such as the Minutes Matter Measuring System) to save time and ensure accuracy.
